Eco-Friendly Tips for Pet Parents

Being able to share our lives with pets is (in our opinion!) one of Mother Nature’s greatest gifts to humans. It’s only fair that we, in turn, treat our planet with respect. Here are some ways pet parents can reduce their pet’s carbon pawprint.

Help Free The Ocean by visiting FreetheOcean.com

One of our favorite ways to make a positive impact on the planet is to be part of the FreetheOcean.com community. Of course, anyone (not just pet owners) can participate in this fantastic way to help clean up our oceans. Simply go to FreetheOcean.com and answer the daily question to help remove one piece of plastic from the ocean.

Pick up Your Dog’s Poop

Aside from being the considerate thing to do, picking up your dog’s poop has other benefits too. Dog poop contains toxins that can wash into our water sources, resulting in poor water quality. Oh, while you’re at it, use earth-friendly, bio-degradable dog poop bags.

Steer Clear of Cat Litter with Chemicals

Many cat litters use toxic substances to mask odors and clay litters often use clay obtained through environmentally destructive strip mining. Consider a more planet-friendly alternative like Nature’s Logic 100% natural Ponderosa Pine cat litter. Pine offers effective, natural odor control and does not contain silica particles or harsh chemicals like many other cat litters do.

Don’t Forget Reusable Bags

When shopping for your pet’s needs, take along your reusable shopping bags!

Help Reduce Pet Overpopulation

Be sure to spay or neuter your pet and consider adopting your next pet from a shelter or rescue. This helps reduce the number of homeless pets in our country and reduces pet overpopulation.

Give Old Pet Supplies New Life

Instead of throwing away old leashes, collars, bowls, toys and more, consider washing them and donating them to your local animal shelter.

Support Brands that Make Sustainability a Priority

At Nature’s Logic, we work hard to find ways to reduce our impact on the planet. First, our headquarters is powered by 100% renewable electricity and so is the manufacturing of our kibble and bags.  Our food is 100% natural with no synthetic vitamins or minerals. We’re working to offset our plastic footprint by introducing Certified Plastic Neutral bags. And, we’re soon introducing a new line of kibble that includes MSC-certified seafood from sustainable fisheries.

We are so happy to see more and more pet parents adopting more sustainable practices. Here’s to you, Mother Nature!
